Glossary
This glossary explains the key terms used in EdgeFinder. The focus is on what each signal represents, not the internal calculations behind it.
Participation Shift Context
A Participation Shift highlights a change in how actively buyers or sellers are engaging with price. These shifts often appear before directional movement and are used to anticipate potential execution opportunities.
Participation Shift signals are designed to reflect changes in market involvement rather than lagging price confirmation.
Model 1 (M1) Models
Model 1 is an execution model designed to identify early trade opportunities when price begins to align with directional conditions.
M1 focuses on timely entry signals and is best used in trending or emerging momentum environments.
Model 2 (M2) Models
Model 2 is a confirmation-based execution model that builds on stronger alignment conditions than M1.
M2 signals typically occur less frequently and are intended to highlight higher-confidence execution zones.
Buy Model Models
A Buy Model indicates conditions where bullish execution criteria are met. Buy models are generated only when directional and contextual requirements align.
Sell Model Models
A Sell Model indicates conditions where bearish execution criteria are met. Sell models are generated only when directional and contextual requirements align.
BOS (Break of Structure) Structure
A Break of Structure occurs when price breaks a previous structural high or low, signaling a potential continuation of the prevailing directional bias.
BOS is commonly used to confirm trend continuation.
CHOCH (Change of Character) Structure
A Change of Character occurs when price breaks structure in the opposite direction of the prevailing trend.
CHOCH is often interpreted as an early indication of potential trend transition or deeper retracement.
VWAP (Volume-Weighted Average Price) Context
VWAP represents the average price traded during a session, weighted by activity.
VWAP is commonly used as a dynamic reference level for intraday bias, mean reversion, and execution confluence.
VWAP Touch Alert Alerts
A VWAP Touch Alert notifies when price interacts with the VWAP level. These alerts are used to highlight areas where reaction or continuation may occur depending on context.
RSI Divergence (Early Warning) Context
RSI Divergence highlights situations where momentum does not align with price movement.
These signals are classified as early warnings and may update while price is forming. They are intended to provide context, not standalone trade entries.
Key Levels Context
Key Levels represent important reference prices such as daily, weekly, and monthly levels, as well as session-based and structural prices.
Key Levels are included in all EdgeFinder plans and provide essential market context.
Alerts & Notifications Alerts
Alerts and notifications inform the trader when specific EdgeFinder conditions are met. The availability of alerts depends on the selected subscription plan.
Alerts are generated in real time based on the enabled features.
Non-Repainting Signals Context
Non-repainting signals are generated only after confirmation conditions are met and do not change once printed.
All confirmed EdgeFinder execution models are non-repainting.
Early Warning Signals Context
Early warning signals highlight developing conditions that may lead to future execution opportunities.
These signals are informational and may update until confirmation criteria are satisfied.
